Announcing Spring 2017’s Share Your Shutters Winner05/08/2017Collins Jones Spring is in full swing here in Dallas, but we haven’t forgotten about our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest. Spring’s contest winner is Tonya S., who shared a few photos of her home that truly show what shutters can do for a space. Tonya’s house features some stunning new Polywood® plantation shutters in the dining room. Because those shutters are closed, you can really get a glimpse of how much control plantation shutters really give you over your lighting. Imagine that dining room with a slightly softer light; it’s almost a picture-perfect setting for a personal candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your dining room like Tonya has, you can express the mood you want no matter the time of day. Also of note is how the white shutters complement the white trim near the floors as well as the white ceiling. Those neutral tones make the black table and the wood floor’s texture ”pop” even more. That wasn’t Tonya’s only photo submission, however. She also sent in a photo of her brand-new sliding barn door shutter! There are a few reasons we love this barn door shutter. First off, it looks fantastic. The homegrown look of the wood paneling with that modern black frame above give a timeless yet comfortable look. What we like even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. The barn door shutter sits off the window frame, so it can control the light levels while still letting the window operate.Since her shutter sits on the frame, Tonya can still use her window sill. For instance, if she wanted to set a flower on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter to let it catch some rays while keeping her home dim if she likes.According to Tonya this is the third time they’ve chosen window treatments from Sunburst Shutters, and we want to thank her for her continued support in choosing us for all her shutter needs. For being selected as our Share Your Shutters winner this time, Tonya will get a $100 gift card to a restaurant in her area. Are your new shutters beautiful enough to be featured here? Show them off! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or submit a photo to our Facebook page.
